Australians, their families, and their businesses, are financially drowning because of the current energy crisis. Labor's policies have increased household energy bills by up to $1,300. It's time to stand up for affordable energy solutions.

This Federal Election Decides Australia’s Energy Future

Energy costs are spiralling out of control, affecting every Australian. This federal election is a make-or-break moment for our energy future.

We’re proposing that the government do two things; lift the ban on nuclear, and commit to a balanced energy mix for a more independent and affordable Australia.

But we can’t do this alone – we need your help to make an impact!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can’t Australia be 100% renewable?

Australia's renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, are intermittent and reliant on weather conditions. While they provide cleaner energy, they cannot consistently meet the country's 24/7 power demands without significant advancements in energy storage technology. To ensure energy reliability and stability, a balanced mix, including traditional and nuclear energy, is crucial to avoid power shortages and blackouts.

What type of energy does Australia use?

Australia's energy mix currently includes coal, natural gas, hydro, wind, solar, and a small amount of oil-based energy. Despite growing investments in renewables, fossil fuels, particularly coal and gas, still make up 91% of Australia’s energy mix.

What is Energy for Australians fighting for?

Energy for Australians is advocating for a balanced energy mix that integrates traditional energy sources with renewable energy and nuclear power. Our aim is to create an energy system that is reliable, cheap, and sustainable, ensuring Australia has the power it needs while reducing environmental impacts and securing energy independence.

Why should we switch to a balanced energy mix?

A balanced energy mix provides the best of all worlds: the reliability of traditional sources, the environmental benefits of renewables, and the long-term sustainability and efficiency of nuclear power. This approach ensures energy security, affordability, and lower emissions without sacrificing reliability

Why isn’t Australia done with coal?

Coal remains a significant part of Australia’s energy supply because it is abundant, reliable, and cost-effective. Phasing out coal too quickly without proper alternatives in place could lead to energy shortages and increased electricity prices. While transitioning away from coal is necessary for environmental reasons, it must be done in a planned, balanced way to avoid economic and social disruptions.

Why do we need to change our energy mix?

Australia's current reliance on fossil fuels contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and energy price volatility. By diversifying our energy mix to include more renewables and nuclear energy, we can reduce emissions, stabilise energy costs, and enhance energy security, particularly as global energy demands evolve.

Why can’t Australia run solely on Nuclear?

While nuclear energy is highly efficient, reliable, and produces very little carbon emissions, it cannot meet all of Australia’s energy needs on its own. The transition to nuclear would take time and involve significant regulatory, social, and financial hurdles. Additionally, a balanced energy system that includes renewables and other sources ensures flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and energy security.

Lift the ban

Australians deserve a choice

When it comes to cheap and reliable energy, Australians deserve to have all of the options on the table. Right now, they don’t.  We want to enable an honest debate about Australia's future. That means lifting the ban on the worlds most reliable energy source, Nuclear, and getting politicians to listen.
